PERIMENOPAUSE
If your hormones are all over the place, then you could be starting on
your perimenopause – the transition between fertile years and the menopause.
The following can help beat it:-
1. An energetic 45 minutes run, aerobic class or a brisk run will rev up the whole system.
2. Reduce coffee intake and take herbal, fruit or green tea as an alternative.
3. Take 1 blackcurrant oil capsule per day to reduce breast tenderness.
4. Wear layers of clothing so you can easily shed them without drawing attention
to yourself from hot flushes.
5. Note triggers for hot flushes. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, spices and garlic.
6. Keep the room temperature no higher than 19 degrees.
7. Use 1 tblspn of linseeds daily on cereal or in bread. They contain lignans,
plant chemicals that have a mild oestrogen-like effect in the body.
8. 1 Vitamin E capsule or 8 almonds a day can reduce hot flushes.
For overall health take 500mg of Calcium and Vitamin C, and 400mg
of Folic acid daily.
9. Try Red Clover, Dong Quai and Black Cohosh.
10. Try to keep your weight within half a stone for your height.
